Accountability for All

To my 479 Kin:

Though I am not party to the issue at hand, I feel an obligation to speak on the matter as a candidate for Trustee. At a time when we feel separate and fractured, we should expect more from those we elect into positions of power. Here is my pledge in light of recent events.

To the Concerned Members of IATSE Local 479,

In the wake of recently resurfaced allegations involving members, I want to address the issue of accountability head-on. As a candidate for our 2023 election cycle, I am deeply committed to protecting and serving our constituents, and I take these, and any other, allegations seriously.

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the gravity and the importance of addressing any allegations with the utmost care and transparency. My commitment to our Union remains steadfast, and I am resolute in my dedication to addressing your concerns should I be elected. To that end, I am committed to the following principles:

Transparency and Accountability: I will engage in a thorough and transparent process to address any allegations. All relevant information will be shared with the appropriate authorities, and I will cooperate fully with any investigation to ensure the truth is revealed.

Listening and Support: I understand the distress allegations can cause our membership. I am here to listen to your concerns, provide support, and answer any questions you may have within legal bounds. Your voices will be heard, and your feelings respected.

Commitment to the Constituency: My commitment to our constituency is unwavering. I am determined to continue working diligently on your behalf, despite the challenges we face. Your trust in leadership is paramount, and I am committed to rebuilding it.

Legislative and Policy Initiatives: I will continue to advocate for and support policies that safeguard our constituents' rights and well-being. My dedication to protecting our membership remains unchanged, and I will pursue policies that promote safety, justice, and fairness.

Moral and Ethical Conduct: I understand the importance of ethical and moral conduct in public office. I am committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, and I will take all necessary steps to ensure that our members' trust is not misplaced.

In these difficult times, it is imperative that we confront any allegations openly and honestly. My aim is to provide you with the assurance that your concerns will be addressed, and that I am committed to working tirelessly to protect the rights and wellbeing of our members. This includes the fair defense of those that face such an accusation, and a just outcome determined by facts.

I humbly request your support and understanding as we navigate challenging waters. Together, we can overcome these obstacles and ensure that our Union remains a place where every member is valued, protected, and heard.
